Now

While checking out what other people were doing with their Blot.im sites, I came across the idea of a Now page, a place to list current projects and areas of focus.

As of May 2024, back from the big spring road trip, I’m focused on

  • Getting that Guide license. I didn’t test before our trip and the requirements changed. Now I need 100 hours of field experience within the past four years. Most of my big wilderness trips were pre-Covid and I’m not sure if the short paddles and hikes count.
  • Doing a great job in my new role as editor of Crossroads, the Utah Genealogical Society’s quarterly publication.
  • Chipping away at that Cushing project.

Then

As of January 2024, this is what I’m focused on:

Fooling around more with Obsidian.

Developing a career that puts my Certified Genealogist and Accredited Genealogist credentials to use.

I’m currently working on a super secret writing project. Once I send that off, I hope to take the test for my Maine Guide license, possibly before our big Deep South road trip this spring. If you have any recommendations for places to visit on a drive from Maine to Clarksdale, MS with a possible stop in New Orleans and detour along the Gulf Coast, please email me!

It’s not on the calendar, but I want to get back to my Cushing project. I want to identify the parents of my 4th great grandfather, William Parker Cushing, who was born around 1798 in Maine or New Hampshire.
